Receiving Specialist

This is a Full-Time, Hourly position.

 

About the receiving specialist:

As a Receiving Specialist, you will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, logging, and stocking all received materials and communicate with Purchasing Team if any issues are found.

 

The ideal candidate should be well-organized, a “can-do” attitude, highly detailed-oriented, and strong interpersonal skills in dealing with customers and co-workers, with the ability to work under pressure.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Effectively inspect received materials for damage and/or contamination.
  2. Compare the BOLs and packing slips to received items and purchase orders.
  3. Receive material into our System.
  4. Communicate with Purchasing team for any issues such as damaged material or discrepancies in quantities received.
  5. Accurately place or stage materials in designated areas.
  6. Operate forklift safely and efficiently.
  7. Complete work within expected periods of time.
  8. Handle medium-to heavy materials intermittently. 
  9. Other duties as required.
  10. Able to lift up to 50lbs (assisted if needed); may work in hot areas 5%, noise 0%.
  11. Ensure adherence to Health and Safety as well as active participation in 5S activities in work area.

 

Attributes, Skills and Knowledge:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in Receiving, Warehouse and high-paced environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and follow procedures
  • Experience with shipping documents such as BOLs and commercial invoices an asset
  • Basic computer skills using programs such as Windows and Excel
  • G License with satisfactory driving record
  • Valid Forklift License and experience in loading and unloading trucks an asset
  • Physical requirements: Able to lift and move up to 50lbs (assisted if needed), frequent walking and standing for long periods, bending and reaching

This is a day shift position based in Mississauga, ON: Monday to Thursdays 7:00am to 4:30pm, Fridays 7:00am - 3:30pm
